Changing work after thirty

Most of the board is not for people who already have the title.

Trades, clinics, kitchens, and schools hire for demonstrated work, not a linear resume. If you can point to a year of doing the thing, write that in the first paragraph and skip the origin story.

Contract roles are a legitimate on-ramp. A ninety-day stint at a named company is more useful than a course certificate. Apply to contracts as seriously as you apply to staff jobs.

When you change fields, the first job will underpay the last one. That is the tuition. Look for teams that have hired career-changers before — they mention it, or they run apprenticeships.
